More brewing gear!

Big day for brewing gear today!

More gear!

Dropped into BeerBelly at lunch time to see if my MashMaster Mill and BeerBelly Kettle were ready. Mill had arrived, and it’s a beast! A bit of work needs to be done to make it work, I need to build a hopper and attach it to something that will sit on top of a grain bucket. Later I plan to setup a permanent motor for milling, but for now a hand held drill will do fine.

My kettle wasn’t ready yet though. Kind of understandable, as the workshop gets very very hot on days like this, we’ve had probably 6 or 8 days above 35c (95f) and it’s set to continue for another 4 or 5 days yet. Respite is in sight, some mid 20’s days late next week so hopefully my kettle will be done next week!

I also finally got my STC-1000 for my Keezer, just in the nick of time so that I can have my fermentation fridge back! Keezer project will have to start soon! I have a chest freezer that comfortably runs at -20C, more of a deep freezer I guess you could say. It’ll do the 6c or 7c required for a keezer in an absolute canter!

I got a couple of stainless steel tea-infusers hop balls, they look like they’ll be perfect for dry-hopping in the keg! I’ll do an IPA in the next month or so and see how they go!

Finally I also picked up from BeerBelly a bulkhead, ball valve and hose tail so I can run the wort out of my 20L kettle and finally use my chiller that I bought two months ago!

Not pictured is the 100g of Pride of Ringwood Hops which will be going in my Australian Pale Ale that I will hopefully brew tomorrow – if I can get the grain mill built and the kettle ball valve installed!
